Allen Press Wins Big at PIA GraphEx

LAWRENCE, Kan. – May 3, 2017 – Allen Press, Inc. is the recipient of eleven awards from the Printing & Imaging Association of MidAmerica’s 2017 Graphic Excellence Competition (GraphEx). Three publication entries received Best of Category awards and six publications received Awards of Excellence.

The Best of Category awards include Naked Food Magazine (Environmentally Sound Materials), Phase/Spencer Museum of Art Newsletter (Newsletters) and The Mineralogical Record – Berezovsk, Russia! (Web Magazines, Periodicals & Publications). The Awards of Excellence winners include HighTower HAPPY, Mineral Collection in the American Northeast, Stanford Business Magazine, Creative Quarterly, Arabian Horse Times and Orchids.

Along with these awards, Allen Press received two additional honors at the GraphEx Awards Gala: a Gold Award in Division III for Naked Food Magazine and a Silver “Best of Kansas City” award for The Mineralogical Record – Berezovsk, Russia!

Created in 1989, GraphEx recognizes outstanding work in the print media industry. Due to the broad diversity of entries, the competition has over 300 categories in three different divisions based on company size. The categories reflect products such as booklets, newsletters, books, magazines, sustainable printing and programs.

The GraphEx Awards Gala was held on April 27 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, KS.
